Coriander Coriandrum Sativum, also known as Chinese parsley…

The medicinal properties of coriander are astounding, and it is often known as the detox herb.

Origins – Coriander was originally found in king Tutankhamen’s tomb, indicating the Egyptians cultivated it. It is mentioned in the Bible as a native of eastern & southern Europe. The Chinese, used the seeds and boiled the roots over 5000 years ago.

Historically, coriander was used to kill and expel worms and parasites from the body, and to settle vomiting. Its  medicinal benefits include assisting the body to clear and detox from heavy metals including lead, mercury and aluminum accumulation.

Detox – Start by taking 1-2 grams of fresh coriander daily (organic herbs preferred). Increase this to 3-6 grams over a few weeks. Make sure you are drinking 1.5L-2L of quality filtered water daily and add a green barley and chlorella supplement. Also eat a high fibre diet with raw and unprocessed foods. The metals attach to the Coriander fibre and then are naturally expelled from the body. This takes 1-2 months.

With coriander you can use the whole herb in cooking, the seeds, leaves and roots (the roots have the best flavour). Coriander, in a natural yoghurt will cool down a spicy, hot dish. Add fresh coriander to your salads. You can also chew on the seeds to sweeten the breath and aid digestion.
