If you haven’t noticed, juicing is a very popular trend right now with people who are looking to introduce more fruits and vegetables into their diets. One of the most widely known about trends is what’s known as a “juice cleanse” where a person only drinks organic juice for either 3, 5 or 7 days. The idea behind the juice cleanse is to rid the body of unhealthy toxins and chemicals that people consume when they eat processed foods. Keep in mind though that drinking any juice purchased at the supermarket is not going to provide you with the health benefits that organic juice does as store purchased juices are often high in processed sugars and additives. To make sure that you’re getting the health benefits that come along with juicing, here is an organic juice recipe that is easy to make at home

Before we get started, you will need a juicer. You’re going to notice that juicers range from reasonably priced, all the way up to nearly unaffordable. Your juicer is your choice, based on your budget, but it’s helpful to go with one that has a powerful motor and a large opening at the top in order to make sure that your fruits and vegetables can easily fit into it.

This organic juice recipe that you can easily make at home contains 3 simple ingredients: Organic oranges, pineapples and mangos. This juice drink is for anyone who loves sweet treats but doesn’t want to cure their sweet tooth with unhealthy processed foods. To make a single serving, you will need: 2 oranges, 1 pineapple and 1 mango. To start, you will need to peel the oranges. You may have heard that you’ll get more nutrients out of juicing if you leave the skins or rinds on the fruits and vegetables and for the most part, this is true. With oranges however, leaving the skin on will result in a very bitter tasting juice, which is why it’s important to remove it. You will also need to core and skin the pineapple as well, but with the mango, it’s up to you on whether you live the skin on or take it off. Next, cut your oranges, your mango and your pineapple into large chunks so they will easily fit into your juicer. Starting with the oranges, slowly feed the three fruits into your juicer. Give a quick stir of your glass or bottle once all three fruits are completely juiced. If you’re using a bottle with a lid, you can always put the lid on and then shake the juice to get everything mixed together well. (Tip: Bananas will not juice, but if you want to add in a banana, simply pour your juice mixture into a blender, add 1 to 2 bananas and blend together).
